SYNOPSIS
A sheet of blank paper presents a struggle between artistic composition and decomposition, as the voice of the narrator-protagonist reminisces about her tumultuous relationship with an ex-girlfriend.
Director Biography
Matea Kovač (1993) is a Croatian film director and animator. She studied Animated Film and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She has made significant contributions to multiple projects and films of different genres that were screened and awarded at various domestic and international film festivals. She currently lives in Zagreb, where she continues to produce animations for several art and commercial projects.
Director's Statement
My partner had an affair. It was a painful, yet motivating experience. During that time, drawing and working on the film became a creative playground where I could focus my thoughts on something else, even though I was working on this project with my then-partner. The film deals with our on-and-off relationship, and animation, as a time-consuming medium, gave me exactly the time I needed to reflect on my place within the relationship, my desires and my needs.
