SYNOPSIS
The work introduces the real life and social recognition of members of sexual minorities in Macau through interviews with two local members of sexual minorities in Macau. Starting from introducing the organizations the members founded, it also shows the development of ballroom culture in Macau, as well as the current situation and difficulties of local sexual minority organizations in Macau.
Director Biography
Chen Peng is a third-year student of Macau University of Science and Technology, majoring in film production. The director’s work One Night Stand had received an Official Selection at the 2023 Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF) and was nominated for the Best Short film Award at SWIFF 2023.
Director's Statement
The work reveals the status quo and existing social problems of sexual minorities in Macau through interviews with members and groups of sexual minorities in Macau. It is intended to promote the social understanding of the culture and needs of sexual minorities by introducing local organizations from the political and cultural perspectives.
