Director's Statement
What the film would like to express is: MAY YOU BE FREE TO LOVE. In the age of adolescence, there is a group of teenagers who, due to social environment, parental authority, or lack of sex education, do not have the opportunity or dare to know themselves, they have difficulty identifying with themselves, and even more so, are unable to become themselves. The protagonist Si Zhen’s self-identification process during adolescence is painful, she cannot accept that her sexual orientation is different from other peers, and what she loves is not recognized by her mother, which makes her confused and lost in all aspects of her life and emotions. Zhang Qing, on the other hand, experienced this pain much earlier, and she frankly and fearlessly pursued the person and the things in her heart. May you be free to love and do what you want.
