SYNOPSIS
Late at night, a young male model arrives at a photographer’s apartment, and as soon as he invites him in, the cat-and-mouse game begins. The realistic, queer setting soon turns into a more allegorical fever dream, where words hurt on a physical level.
Director Biography
Born in 2000, Bese Komáromy is a Hungarian writer-director. He studied stage directing at FreeSzfe in Budapest (2021-2023), and wrote and directed several theatre shows. “Marcang” (Blast) is his first film.
Director's Statement
“Blast” is my very first film – it was born out of deep love and even deeper frustration. I wanted to play with the power balance between the characters and the roles they fulfill, to explore the often manic and unstable nature of creation. I wanted to create a world where an idea can bite back and self-doubt and obsession is shifted to the physical realm of the body.
