SYNOPSIS
After their break-up, Mia has to return to her ex-girlfriend’s apartment. This is going to be their very last moment together, before they say goodbye.
Director Biography
<p> Thibaut Buccellato directed in 2013 “Je Suis Une Rencontre”, which received the Schools Award at the Nikon Film Festival. In 2016, he directed “The Space Between Us”, a short film on singleness that accumulated over 100,000 views on YouTube. In 2019, he released two short films shot in New York City: “In the Night”, with Nash Edgerton and Isabel Lucas, in the official selection at the Manchester Film Festival and winner of the Best Foreign Drama at the San Francisco Indie Fest; and “The Wait” with Ekaterina Samsonov, competing at the Very Short International Film Festival. In 2020, “Someone, Somewhere” was released, a short film shot in New York City starring Rebecca Dayan and Jeremy McClain. In 2021, Thibaut Buccellato directed and produced “Loving,” released online. Shot on 35mm film, it features over 40 actors, including Déborah Lukumuena, Ophélie Bau, Lucas Bravo, Pierre Deladonchamps, Agathe Rousselle. In 2023, he followed up with “It’s Gonna be Okay,” a response to “Loving,” featuring more than 20 actors, including Marie Colomb, Pablo Pauly, Diane Rouxel, Younès Boucif, Lucie Zhang, Shaïn Boumedine, Fanny Sidney, Suzanne Jouannet, Sarah Perles, Syrus Shahidi. In 2022, he completed “The Tears You Left With Me,” featuring the American actress and model Leyna Bloom. In 2023, he directed “How to say goodbye” an 8-minute short film shot in New York City, featuring rising actresses Eleanore Pienta and Stella Baker.</p>
Director's Statement
We’ve all been through breakups. We’ve all fallen in and out of love. We’ve all had to say goodbye for the very last time. It’s not easy, even if both sides agree, there is always the residue of the love that was shared for so long. No matter how or why a relationship ends, something always remains… This film shows the last 8 minutes of a couple trying to figure out how to say goodbye.
